The Production of Delicious Rice
Here we introduce the necessary process to deliver delicious Japanese rice to your table.
Spring |
|
Seedling ProductionRice seeds are planted on seed beds in a plastic greenhouse and seedlings are raised. |
|
Soil PreparationThe soil in the rice fields is plowed to provide a plentiful supply of oxygen and to revitalize the soil.
Kubota tractors are used in this soil preparation as they are gentle on the soil and run smoothly. |
|
Transplanting
The seedlings that have been raised in the plastic greenhouse are transported to the rice field and a transplanter is used to plant them.
Kubota transplanters are also used here as they are capable for the accurate and delicate transplanting of the seedlings. |
|
Summer |
|
Fertilizer and WeedingThe insect pests and weeds that hinder the growth of the rice are removed and the rice is raised carefully so that the seedlings will quickly grow.
The Kubota Group conducts research and development on new cultivation methods and offers expertise so that it is possible to work together with the highly experienced farmers on the production of delicious Japanese rice. |
|
Rice Flowering
Small flowers bloom at the tips of the plants from the end of July to August. |
|
Autumn |
|
Ear EmergenceAt around the end of September, the ears of rice ripen and the rice fields turn into golden color. |
|
Harvesting
If the rice is harvested too early or too late, then the taste will be inferior.
The farmers determine the optimum timing for the harvesting and then use Kubota Combine Harvesters which are capable of doing the rapid and careful reaping to harvest their rice.
The latest models have the “Taste-Yield Sensor” included (PF Specification), which is the industry’s first in this type of sensor. It is therefore possible to check and know the taste and yield for each field whilst reaping the crop.
The harvested rice is transported to the drying equipment in husk state. |
|
Husking and Drying
The husks are dried to the optimal moisture level for storage and then the rice husks are removed to become brown rice.
Rice can only be harvested once a year in Japan, so it is placed in bags in the brown rice state, which is suitable for storage. It is then stored until just before its consumption. |

Transportation
Kubota Rice Industry (SGP) transports the rice from Japan to Singapore in brown rice state, which is the most suitable for maintaining its freshness. This differs from the rice that is generally sold in Singapore.
This method makes it possible to deliver fresh and delicious rice at any time.
Containers specifically for rice are used for the transportation and the transportation and storage are performed under the optimal conditions. |
|
Inspection and Taste Value Analysis
Acceptance inspections are performed on the imported rice using the radiation measuring equipment and various other inspection devices possessed by Kubota Rice Industry (SGP). |
|
Cold Storage
Kubota Rice Industry (SGP) has obtained a license to store rice at their own company. We store the rice at the optimal temperature and humidity in a dedicated rice storage installed within the company. |
|
Rice Polishing
Kubota Rice Industry (SGP) has a rice polishing machine for commercial use, so it is possible to produce genuine polished rice at a level equivalent to or even higher than those eaten in Japan.
The rice is polished in Singapore just before it is shipped so that it is possible to deliver it to customers in the most delicious state possible. |
|
Shipping
The polished rice is placed in original Kubota Rice Industry (SGP) rice bags and then shipped. |
